People who think porn is wrong really need to think more about humanity
Gr8 cool I will do that while u engage in the totally natural act of watching people you don’t know have sex, without knowing why they are there, if they are being forced into it, if they are underage, if they consented to every act, if they have to take drugs just to get through it, the possibility of diseases, and the overall consequences for porn stars mental health, the entrenched violence and misogyny, the faked orgasms and the ridiculous expectation of sex that it perpetuates. By all means beat off to that. But don’t tell yourself it’s good for humanity. Sex has always existed. Porn, particularly violent, hardcore porn, has not.
I think this marginalizes things to a bad extent, it’s a case of exposure.
For example, if your only exposure to drugs has been crack cocaine and heroin, your expectation and education on drugs is that they destroy lives and people, so if someone you just met told you they were going to get their prescription from the pharmacy, your opinion of them would be based off your limited exposure to drugs/medicine.
Again, if your only exposure to video games has been CoD, GTA and Mortal Kombat, your perception and expectation is that “All video games are violent”, - Something the media constantly tends to suggest. However, if your exposure to games has only been Sims, Animal Crossing and Mario Kart, how you perceive video games and what you believe them to morally be would be completely different to the former three. - Perhaps if you would allow your children or siblings to play video games would depend on your exposure.
Porn is no different. It is neither Good, nor Evil. Yes, there is some awful porn companies and porn productions out there, as well as illegal porn such as rape and underage and “Revenge porn” (Comes under Rape as there was no consent to be published/broadcast.) as well as Rape-Fantasy, incest-fantasy (And non-fantasy) abuse and BDSM porn. There is also high-production, high-safety, porn, and every single legal porn company requires full consent of participants (Backdoor Casting Couch is staged for example).
The difference is education and exposure. If you’re poorly educated about Drugs vs Medicine (Including poor education about the dangers of drugs and drug abuse.), video games, sex and porn you’re going to have problems and bad expectations. Many people believe you can’t get pregnant the first time you have sex, if the woman’s on top, or that you can’t get STDs if the guy doesn’t cum. As well as misconceptions about orgasms, size, etc. This needs to be taught. Essentially, I believe for good, female-friendly, porn to grow and expand, porn needs to be taught in sex education. - We need to educate guys and girls on what happens in porn, why men and women do porn, consent, safe-words, acting, faking orgasms, performance sex and performance foreplay, expectations and how real sex differs from porn sex, why consent is important, why STD prevention is important, and why “Revenge porn” is rape.
With proper education, men and women can be more educated about their bodies, and we can have more positive people in the sex industry.
